ATLANTA
Locally Catherine has worked with lead singers in
the Actor's Express productions of "Hedwig" and "Belcanto" (located at the King Plow Arts Center) featuring her voice students Angela Motter and Mark Salyer.
NEW YORK CITY
Catherine's students also perform in other major cities, such as New York. One such student (Sage Notari) landed a leading role in the production of "A Kid Who Played The Palace," a musical being shopped to Broadway Producers.
THE FOX THEATRE
Another of Catherine's students (Mimi Holland) opened for Grammy award winning pop/rock singer, David Gray, at The Fox Theatre last year.
OPERA SHOWCASE (Oglethorpe University)
In June 2003, Catherine helped produce an Opera Showcase which featured 7 young aspiring opera singers (Christina Reaves representing the studio of Catherine Dunne) at Oglethorpe University. In conjunction with this showcase, a Musical Theatre Workshop was borne out of the necessity for preparing her singers to perform to their fullest.
MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP
This Musical Theatre workshop has turned into an ongoing workshop with one of Atlanta's best acting teachers, Nick Conti, at the helm. His website can be found at ProActorsStudio.com.
Nick Conti's mastery is in pulling "the heart" out of each performer. Catherine vocally prepares the 12 selected singers/actors to then move into the world of Nick Conti. His years of experience, excitement in his craft and unbridled energy, together with Catherine's love of voice prove to be a winning combination, creating one of the most powerful and exacting workshops for the performer.
CAPITOL CITY OPERA COMPANY
Catherine's students also perform with the Capitol City Opera, participating in such events as their "Dinner and a Diva" series held once a month at the french restaurant "South of France" (Colleen Dunne and Tony DeSario performing).
Congratulations to the newest member of the CCO Company Liz McMillan!
Watch for her principal role in CCO's production of "The Medium" October 2004 (check our their website at CCityOpera.com for further details). And congratulations are in order for her solo performance during the "Bravo Bernstein" Summer 2004 Callanwolde benefit.
THE ATLANTA OPERA COMPANY
Minka Wiltz is indeed "A Talent To Watch" (see the article this Fall 2004 in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on this very talented performer). Minka performed in May 2004 with the Atlanta Opera Company's production of "Madama Butterfly" and will be seen in many more productions to come.
Ms. Wiltz is the scheduled solo artist singing Handel's "Messiah" on Dec. 5th for the Roswell Presbyterian Church accompanied by The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
ATLANTA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CHORUS
Michele Diament, student of Catherine Dunne and chorus member of the Atlanta Symphony Chorus wins a grammy! This is the ASO Chorus' 4th grammy to date. Congratulations to Michele and her 199 chorus members!
G'OPERA
You might ask what form of music this is. It's a perfect blend of Gospel and Opera. Using opera techniques to strengthen and protect the voice, Gospel singers are finding their way to my studio, with amazing results. Hence G'Opera!
BENEFITS
We raised over $10,000 for the charity organization, ChildKind, with the December 3, 2003 production of "A Night At The Tonys" a musical revue of award winning Broadway tunes performed by some of my most talented students: Tony DeSario, Colleen Dunne & Christina Reaves. See below for poster of event.
This wonderful organization provides foster care, adoption and family support for children who have severe medical conditions. Go to ChildKind.org for more info.

Every Tuesday evening a group of neighbors gather at
Ms. Dunne's home to tutor the youth of Kirkwood. We have become "The Kirkwood Reading Club" and call ourselves "Youth Angels." We tutor the underprivileged and turn them (as much as we can) into "the privileged." So far, the results have been amazing and the children are loving it!
